The Old City

The old city of Sozopol is build on a peninsula which you could partly see here. The coast line on the peninsula is made of rocks in which the water stops on some places only a few steps under your feet.

The houses you see here are just a few of the 180 ones that are a national culture values.
This typically Bulgarian architecture could be found also in Stara Planina mountain chain and around the mountain Strandga.
Some of the most famous buildings in the old city are the “House of Marieta Stefanova”, “House of Kreanoolu”, “House of Todor Zagorov”, “House of Krutidi”, “House of Dimitar Laskaridis”.
The urban development of the old city has been kept. The streets are covered with stones and that gives it an additional charm while you’re walking around.
