Sozopol has a new modern scrap depot build on ISPA program. It is one of five in Bulgaria and an important one for it gives Sozopol garbage solutions and freedom to maintain the environment’ well known quality.Te mayor Veska Karamanova said “the tests show that all the systems work in tact with the ecology normative and safety measures.” The tests were made under the supervision of the ministry of environment and water and the German consortium WALTER-HEILIT SS that executed the project as well as other consultants.
The utility is 124 000 sq. m. and is situated in the Chopalaka area near the village Ravadinovo. 3 cells for press and refining have been build as well as administrative buildings.
The depot has a biological purging station which extracts clean water and it will be used in the other activities of the whole utility. This will close the cycle of the scrap depot.
Over 10 million euro have been invested in the depot.
